The acting wasn't that bad. But I admit, I was only really paying attention to Jet Li and the three women. (And I have a slight weakness for the slapstick end of adventure-comedy.)

Your point about the plot, however, is well taken.

Kung-Fu Panda, in its trailers, always struck me as potentially a)taking itself seriously, or b)having a moral. So I haven't seen it. :)
