I agree: the framing device in DA II is completely useless. Its only redeeming quality is giving me more Varric, who I find the most charming dwarf since the original pile on Bilbo's doorstep.

I'm especially disappointed that Flemeth got such a fabulous makeover and only shows up twice--pointlessly, no less, except for sequel-bait.

But I adore the queer romance options and how seamlessly they're integrated.
