(I'm not sure my reading of her work can point anything up for anyone else, since I'm reading for the prose and the... gut-punch of the argument working out in character and flesh and blood, I suppose. I might try to (re)read Bear more intellectually and less emotionally at some point, if I find myself some time again.)
