Harry Potter and the Bloody Fat Book

The internets have died and gone to Harry Potter, it appears.

Yes, I bought it. At half past five this evening. It proved to be a less dreadful* book than I anticipated, given the standard of previous offerings, and having finished it, I have three things to say:

1: Predictable.

2: If Harry Potter is supposed to be the hero, why does Hermione Granger spend most of the book pulling his sorry, unheroic-acting arse out of one dilemma after another? You ask me, the book - the series - would have been far more interesting if it was about the smart sidekick.

3: Madam Rowling, that was a chickenshit ending.

*Yes, I damn with faint praise. Still, it raised itself out of the godawful mire that was Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince and managed to be reasonably engaging.
