To all concerned:
Am still alive. In Crete. Weather hot, highs occasionally hitting forty, mostly early thirties. Very interesting history around here. Internets rare and expensive. Good fun. Very hot.
Expect no response to email/comments for at least another week. I won't get home till Saturday, and god, I cannot wait for rain.
