Heard on the radio while at the gym this morning: Bertie Ahern promises to bring forward legislation for civil partnerships within the next twelve months.

Bertie, you're usually a wanker and a chancer, but if you carry through on this one, I might actually respect you just a little.

Though there's been an astounding lack of complaint from the usual cartload of bishops and noisemakers who like to chime in on so-called 'controversial' issues, so I'm optimistic on this one. :)

Perhaps they're confused? Perhaps all this peace breaking out is keeping them occupied..little by little, the world will change its ways (except for the USA, naturally). ;-)
