I think I still have a copy of Princess Academy somewhere. I liked the premise, and thought it was well done and all, but...it didn't really grab me much, unfortunately. Got about 3/4 through and never got around to finishing it. I've got it mentally tagged as a great book that's just--well, like you put it. Not hitting my narrative kinks.
