Bombs on planes

My mother works in Dublin Airport. I have friends who work there, and other friends whose mothers are airline stewards. And so I'm sitting here worrying.

But damn, you have to admire the Brits for being on top of things.

Yes indeed - kudos to the Brits, and personally, I'd prefer the snakes on the planes.

Can't stop you from worrying about Mum and friends, but here's to everyone getting home safely tonight. ;-)

*crosses fingers*

Well, so far nothing has gone BOOM!

So I have hope. And faith in the Brit intel services. They did a decent job of it in the North, after all.

May they stay on top of it. (grumble) It is at times like this that I think that movie about putting all the Japanese Americans in concentration camps should be compulsory viewing to all 'religious madrissas' and maybe just everyone. Not that I want that to happen to anyone, but it might help to remind the parents and families of home-grown supporters of offshore extremists what the price could be, if the 'holy war' actually happens.

May they indeed. Which movie is that? I don't think I've ever seen it.

The Brits know how to cope with home-grown terror networks. They've only been doing it for the last couple of hundred years, after all.

I never thought I could actually be grateful for that history of Anglo-Irish conflict, and the Northern shit. But lately I'm starting to think that it's a good thing the British have practice - and practice at being successful - in this.

Because they're about the only ones who have.
