Achievements:

Running: 3 miles in 35 minutes, 3.6 miles in 46 minutes total.

Climbing: About an hour and a half at the wall. All in all a good evening: made some progress on one of my project 5s, sent my warm-up 4+, got more than three-quarters of the way up a 6b, which I think counts as an unmitigated triumph, especially since it was all technique and I did it with reasonable form. Fiddled around with a couple other routes.

I have reached the conclusion that my major flaw, in climbing, is insufficient upper body strength. Oh, well. No cure for that but work and time.

At least I haven't lost too much conditioning.

Reading: halfway through Dignas and Winter, Rome and Persia in Late Antiquity: Neighbours and Rivals.

Still haven't got back into Greek or Latin. Tomorrow.
