New routes.

hawkwing_lbOuch. So I flashed a 5 and on-sighted a 6A - albeit with one pause - but damn. I am too used to doing things I already know how to do. I really struggled with half of the other six routes I tried, and did not get more that two-thirds of the way up the other three.
And my shoulderblades have not hurt like this in months.
But my new hopefully semi-regular semi-longterm climbing mate is a nice funny boy, and I hope to convince him to teach me a few words of Czech. What? I'd really like to be able to say more than hello and thank you - I can say "thanks" in ten languages, counting ancient Greek, which is two more than I can say "hello" in - I can say more than "hello" and "thanks" and "yes/no" in only four, and I'd really like to add to that number. It seems only polite.
And a friend of mine has just drawn my attention to USIT's African and Middle Eastern winter holidays, and I may die or commit murder of envy. I don't have six hundred quid to spare, unlike some, but if I had? Oh, gods. I would love to go diving on the Red Sea. Or visit Jordan.
Bah. I will huddle at home and glare at my miserly stash of savings, which are already pledged on a new pair of (running) shoes come October. Like Scrooge, I count my pennies. Unlike him, I'm not rich. :P
But I do have Vlad the Impaler playing with my trouser-strings and many friends. So it's not all bad. :)
