Books 2012: 56-57

56. Sherwood Smith, Senrid. Book View Café, ebook.

Aimed a bit younger than YA. Entertaining, if somewhat saccharine. [livejournal.com profile] jennygadget, you might give it a shot for your thing?

57. Jonathan Maberry, Assassin's Code. St. Martin's Press, 2012.

Read for review for Tor.com. Shallow American-centric thriller with skiffy bits and problematic elements: I wanted to like it more than I ultimately did.

So now I am trying to read Mary Gentle's The Black Opera. So far, it seems very promising. But I possess today an irrational hate for the whole world, and it's rather interfering with my enjoyment of anything.

I love that when you think of saccharine middle grade novels, you think of me. :p
