Although I did go for a three-minute run with slightly less wheezing than yesterday, which is something - but now my kidneys ache again. FEAR. TERROR. HYPOCHONDRIA.
It is possible that the kidney infection is fighting the antibiotics. In which case, after you come off this course, you'll have to go on something else that the bacteria haven't built up a resistance to. It will suck and it will take longer than if this first round had worked straightforwardly (and I'm not saying it isn't—your kidneys may ache simply because they've had an infection for, what, a month at this point? So they're as bruised and healing as the rest of you) and there will be all the fun of antibiotic side effects because everyone who's already sick needs those. It will not mean that you will NEVER BE HEALTHY AGAIN. I can't see anything from this chain of events that would damage your health permanently. If you were going to have kidney failure, I think someone would have noticed by now. So the worst you're looking at is really STILL NOT HEALTHY RIGHT NOW DAMMIT. Which is awful enough on its own time! But at least that's where it should stay.
(And anyway I hope the antibiotics are working and this is just the infection getting in its last few shots on the way out the door. How long have you been on them?)
