About half an hour ago I started wondering why I felt so wrecked. It was only mid-afternoon, and I hadn't exactly arisen early.

And then, of course, I realised. I'd just spent the better part of two hours in the gym.

This exercise lark is really quite draining, you know.

I'm improving my fitness levels pretty quickly, all things considered: three weeks ago I could barely run for three and a half minutes at a stretch without stumbling and gasping like a landed fish. Now I'm up to five minutes initially, and another fifteen minutes alternating running and walking minute by minute, for over a mile and a half inside twenty minutes.

If I was just running, I'd probably be less wrecked, but I've started to spend over an hour and a half in the gym every time I go, in order to get a decent amount of weight work in. I can't lift anything heavy, of course, but it's amazing how quickly your muscles adjust to a new workload.

At the time, at least. Afterwards, I'm tending to fall over like a lump, and sag into somnolence for the rest of the evening.

At least it feels good. :)
