84-85. Patrick O'Brian, The Reverse of the Medal and The Letter of Marque.
The continuing brilliant adventures of Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin. Although it is rather odd to consider all these events happening in 1812. "Hypothetical years," O'Brian puts it in the introduction to one of the books that take place in this fictionally-distended year: "an 1812a or an 1812b."
I love O'Brian when I'm away from home, for some reason, and find him quite hard to read at home. Isn't that odd?
I had the most disturbing dream last night. A friend had died, and I was trying - but never quite managing - to get to her funeral. Most disturbing.
I wrote a little, but the poor laptop is rather straining itself in the heat. Maybe while I'm here I can write a little more.
