Friggin' green bits!

We just got the Christmas tree.

Oh god oh god oh help.

Imported from Holland. It's alive. It's still in its pot. The decorations from the shed have been hauled out, complete with spiders. Huge spiders. They don't look like normal incy-wincy Irish spiders. They're great bloody big monster buggers. Probably foreign and poisonous. ::shudder::

There are frigging green bits everywhere. There were even green bits in the front door keyhole! Tinsel, and pretty shiny baubles, and -

I couldn't take it anymore. I'm not even Christian anymore! I fled. I'm locked in my room. I'm safe. There are no green bits here. The first spider I see is a dead spider. And I'm not going near the tinsel.

Holiday spirit? Oh no. You just keep that madness away from me, right? Any holiday spirit that comes complete with bloody great spiders...

And the cat is playing bat-the-bauble and chase the tinsel and trying to climb the tree.

I've survived the annual experience again.

Oh, well. At least locking myself away for the afternoon had a decent result: I managed to get over 2,400 words of "Dreamdark" written. If I keep pushing - and I'm not sure I'm able to, mind - I might get another 1,100 written. Making this the first day ever I met my goal.

Don't think that's going to happen, but we can try.

Yes, I'll hate myself for this tomorrow. But. 3,452 words! Nothing to sneeze at. Only 48 words short of The Unachievable Goal.

If I get 1,000 new words tomorrow, I'll be happy.
