I must be crazy. You know why?
I'm not halfway through the first term of this final year, and already I'm thinking about how to make an application for a master's by research.
Help?

Date: 2009-10-24 11:35 pm (UTC)There are a couple of places where I'd like to do a taught masters - osteoarchaeology in Cork, Edinburgh or Bournemouth, if I can get into the first one or figure out how to fund either of the latter two - but barring that, my plan is to do an MLitt on responses to disease in the ancient world and then see if I can get funding and support to take it to PhD level, come back and play with bones part-time later, maybe, if I can.
If I can get into one of the taught programmes, plan is to do that, then come back, use what I learn to think up different angles for the same topic, responses to disease in the ancient world, and see how far I can get in doctoral and post-doctoral research. Because it's an interesting topic, and opens up sociological and anthropological questions, as well as being open to approaches arising out of art history or the history of religions and their role in responses to disease. I am passionate about what I want to learn. :)
Oh, wait. Did you want the short answer? :P
