Books 2009: 93

93. Kat Richardson, Vanished.

Ghosts, vampires, undead, and a Seattle private investigator in London. It's fast, and gripping, and well-written in any number of ways, and I do recommend it.

My spouse is fond of vampire fiction. I think for Christmas he's going to get a matched set of Celia's recommendations (Alisa Sheckley's The Better to Hold You and Moonburn and this Richardson. *g*

Hey, did you ever read Sharp Teeth, by Toby Barlow? It's a nice, fresh take on the werewolf mythology, coupled with free verse narration. And not as weird as that sounds. >:-)

(And I still haven't found music that I will listen to, in my current mood, for more than two seconds. Post novel ennui sucks.)

This is the fourth Richardson. It might be better to start with the first. :)

Never heard of Barlow, but I'll keep it in mind for when I have moneys again.

(At least you are post. I have middle ennui. :P )

::pats:: The middle ennui passes, no matter how horrible it is. I had middle ennui for two effing years, through three rewrites of two different novels. I don't know how Bear does this. No one ever needs to worry about not being able to keep up with my production. *g* And now my stupid brain is starting to wonder what we begin next!

First Richardson, check.
