But then I went to the dentist, and she put a filling in my tooth, and now my tongue is numb.
It's very hard to concentrate on one's plans when one's tongue is numb. It's been two hours, and it's still numb.
(But I am grateful for government-provided dental care.)
Last night I had a dinner and an evening lecture with the archaeology society and a nice young lecturer from Cyprus. He educated us about the hellenisation of the so-called "Cypriot goddess," and expressed interest in my thesis, as well as offering to help me find information on Ptolemaic ruler-cult and Isis-Aphrodite on Cyprus. I may take him up on that, depending on where things take me next year.
It was pleasant. And exhausting.
