Just two steps short of panic
May. 20th, 2010 02:11 pmYou know, I like going interesting places.
All the steps it takes to get there, though? They give me hives.
(In case you're wondering, I'm currently convinced I'm going to get lost somewhere between JFK and Grand Central Station. Convinced.)

Date: 2010-05-20 03:19 pm (UTC)If you have to get lost in NYC, head over to Greenwich Village and find yourself some tea. Not as many bookstores as there used to be, alas.
Grand Central Station is grand.

Date: 2010-05-20 05:07 pm (UTC)I used to be afraid of New York. Am getting used to it now. But it's pretty easy not to get lost in Manhattan.

Date: 2010-05-20 06:43 pm (UTC)(also, ignore what they say about New Yorkers not being friendly. They are mostly just super-good at minding their own business and so tend to treat the people looking at maps more like obstacles than people. But if you see someone not-in-a-hurry and ask them a question, there is an extremely good chance they will be very helpful indeed.)

Date: 2010-05-20 07:32 pm (UTC)As a born- and partly-raised in the city New Yawker, I can say that you'll find plenty of friendly people to direct you in your travels. Even after an 8 hour trip on the plane. You have handled Paris, London, and Dublin; you'll handle New Yawk.
Even with the zombies. Just head north, and keep going. ;-)
