1. Archaelogical Museum of Thessaloniki: full of gold gravegods. Seriously. Full.

2. Heat continues most unpleasant. I will not be climbing while I'm here, even if I can find a wall. This annoys me, as I can feel my arm muscles starting to melt.

3. Have internet. But chat programmes blocked. Alas.

4. Eventually I will investigate the old part of the town and perhaps an Orthodox church or two. There are two other museums at least here that I have yet to locate and explore, and a bath complex and a Roman-period forum, which I would quite like to have a look at.

5. Can now say, "How old are you?" and "Where are you from?" in Greek. Fluency, it is not. Yet. Phonemes interestingly different. A lot of ways to write the sound "eee".

6. Hope maybe to get a couple of minutes' run in at some point during next week. Though going faster than a walk is possibly not the cleverest idea ever, for me: temperature twice the average at home at least until after midnight.

7. Greek food puts oregano in everything. Pasta, rice, chicken, chips, pork, meatballs, tomato - everything.

8. Will attempt to describe adventures in Thessaloniki in more detail, but only if anyone is interested.

I'm interested, but you probably knew that.

Do you like oregano?

Many ways to write "eee" = enhanced squeeage opportunities.

My only Greek words are "evkaristo" and "pagotoh." I always like to cover the basics first.

Oregano is okay. I'll either love it or hate it by the end of the four weeks.

Hello, thank you, please, sorry. These are good words to learn in any language.

("Synkomi, thein milao elladika" is "Sorry, I don't speak Greek." Useful phrase.)

Hello, please, thank you, ice cream. :-D

I became fond of dill under similar circumstances. Still not my fave, but I no longer avoid it.

The coming days will be full of them, if my laptop doesn't melt. :)
