I am behind on everything.

Sadly, this seems like a situation which may continue for the foreseeable future. I may have to bite the bullet and admit that.

On the other hand, I managed a run of 16.5 minutes this evening, with additional running-like things happening for the next six minutes, so that's something, at least. (It seems that sea chanteys are good for keeping time when I run out of actual energy. "Heave ho stamp and go, round Cape Horn we're bound to go," actually matches the rhythm of my stride. Although I'm fairly sure that innocent passers-by may have been rather confused.)

Right now, I'm hoping that copious amounts of tea will help me get through writing up these notes before midnight. I may need something stronger. Possibly black tea, instead of rooibos. Perhaps some nice Margaret's Hope Darjeeling...

That is after all what Chantys are for. Keeping the work going when you would like to fall down and die.

Round Cape Horn through sleet and snow!

Yep. Very useful things. (Also for rowing, though Haul on the Bowline seems to work better for that, and since it's in the gym, I have to remember to sing it in my head. :P)

Wait, what, there's a tea called Margaret's Hope? There's a village called St Margaret's Hope in Orkney. I have been there. I have eaten two of the finest meals of my life there, at The Creel (http://www.thecreel.co.uk/main.htm). I sort of thought the name was unique. A tea,you say? Darjeeling...?

There is indeed. I bought mine in a little French chain shop on Georges St., the fortunately-named Palais de Thé. It is this tea, Margaret's Hope Second Flush (http://www.palaisdesthes.com/en/tea-shop/darjeeling-margarets-hope-t-f-g-f-o-p-second-flush-630.html), and personally I find it fair to wondrous.

But then, it is the first Darjeeling tea I have drunk, so perhaps it is not as wondrous as I think it is. (Which means there are more wondrous teas out there to drink, which is definitely an upside.)

I'd offer to send you a sampler, but I'm afraid I gave the last of them away during the holidays. I can still send you a sample, but I fear it might not well survive in a mere resealable friggy bag... :)
