I always forget how much I hate the city centre. Crowds, traffic, stink, noise. I would suppose that I must be a country girl at heart, except for the small issue of my unfortunate aversion to cowshit*.
So, once again I emerge from a bookshop in possession of more books than I had intended. Worse, I already own two of them, but the UK HB edition of Naomi Novik's Throne of Jade was just too shiny to resist**, and my mother has nicked my copy of Madeleine E. Robin's Point of Honour. Kristine Kathryn Rusch's The Black Queen was impossible to turn down at E6.50 (I'd pay as much for it secondhand at Chapters), and I keep hearing things about Catherine Asaro, so Schism (the only copy of any of her books in stock in Hodges Figgis) was added to the pile, as well.
I'm trying to justify myself, aren't I? Oh, well.
In other news, at this time, no one has blown up Dublin Airport. I declare myself relieved***. Long may this state of affairs continue! *crosses fingers*

*It's the squishiness. And the smell.
**And with a pricetag of E19.10, uncommonly cheap.
***See previous post for why.
