My college email account is marked for expiration.
I'm a continuing student. It's not supposed to do this to me.
But the state of affairs is somewhat confused. See, I went off books at the end of last year. Long story, mostly boring. I applied to repeat the year on medical grounds: medical grounds means I keep my eligibility under the Free Fees Initiative, which means that I actually can repeat the year.
And not, y'know, starve to death or bankrupt my parent while so doing.
Thing is, now I need a doctor's cert to be sent to the Senior Lecturer's office prior to registration. I need to go talk to my local authority -- the county council -- about this whole fees lark; I need to get in touch with the Student Records office, and I need to keep my fucking head together while I'm doing this.
Alas, all these dread personages do not do business via the internets, or this would be a much simpler thing.
None of them do, in point of fact. And have you ever tried dealing with bureaucracy over the phone? Of course you have. It takes hours to get anything done, and no one ever tells you their right name so when you take a break, you have to start all over again.
I figure I've ten days, more or less, to get this shit sorted out.
I can always panic later.
