There are a certain number of trials and tribulations associated with holidays. One of these is losing control of one's sleep cycle, and as a consequence throwing one's diurnal rhythm all out of whack.

Yesterday, it being quite dark, I slept in until 1600 hours.

That was not a typo.

It's just turned 0700 hours in the morning as I write this, and my body thinks it's dinnertime. Past dinnertime, actually: time for sleeping again. But I need a diurnal (emphasis on the diurnal, please) rhythm back, and so, in order to re-regulate my sleep cycle, I'm not going to be sleeping for another, oh, twelve hours yet.

Pass the intravenous caffeine, s'il vous plait.

Between then and now, I need to take a trip into town, do some exercise, have a shower or two, eat something, and try to do some work on this here story that seems intent on staying stuck, not necessarily in that order. Also, getting some reading done for college would help.

Oh, and stay awake and alive while doing all that.

I'm counting the hours until seven o'clock this evening. Seven is a respectable hour for collapsing unconscious, isn't it?

But first, I must break all my previous records of wakefulness, and live through 27 hours between sleep periods.

I'm thinking of opening a betting pool, 'cause, honestly, the odds aren't looking good from here. :)

ETA: 1400. Four hours to go.

Good luck with those last 4 hours. If you're lucky, your bed will feel so soft and comfortable that you'll drop right off and have some nice imaginative dreams that you'll be able to remember when you wake up.

Sleep well!

Not there yet. :)

Right now I'm just hoping to get another three hours of wakefulness. :)

(thanks)

Almost there! Soooo close! Just prop those eyelids open, and don't drink any more caffeine. ;-)

(Notice the cat sleeping in front of the heater...this will be you in three more hours)

(Yes, that is one of my cats)
