Why is the rum always gone?
Feb. 18th, 2007 09:41 pmMy mindset this weekend has been thus:
Don' wanna do work. Don' wanna do work.
I ascribe this to my attempt at shopping yesterday. One pair of boots, bought. But ye gods and little fishes, how could that be so tiring?
*
Books read:
Fiction 20, Book 21: Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory, When Darkness Falls.
Meh. Entirely. The main character suffers from a surfeit of virtues, the plot follows standard battle-against-forces-of-darkness plan, and the ending lacks... something.
Non-fiction 2, Book 22, Henry Chadwick, The Early Church.
A comprehensive, readable overview of the history of the early Christian Church, from the first to about the fifth century C.E. It was surprisingly compelling reading.
Still not-reading Butcher's Storm Front. I really don't think I'll end up finishing it.
*
Right now, I'm not-working and half-watching, half-listening to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I want that soundtrack. It is quite incredible.
