Today required shopping. Since all my t-shirts are over six months old, and fast wearing out - and they weren't the only articles of clothing in urgent need of replenishment.
Behold, the mistress of one-stop shopping. Quick in, quick out. The purchase of four t-shirts and other sundries takes fifteen minutes...
...Now, if I could only be as quick in the bookshops.
I did come away with a collected writings of Elizabeth I, and a Penguin Dictionary of the Classical World, from the bargain section. The Penguin Classical is currently out of print, so that was a lucky break.
I really must make time to read Suetonius. Allegedly he's the Roman Imperial period's equivalent to a gossip columnist.
And speaking of things I really must make time read, anyone got any good book recs on history? I don't have a specific period/region in mind: all I ask is that it be written in a way as to actually be interesting. A certain level of accuracy and intelligence is also to be preferred...
